More than 1,500 Autostrada specialists and over 500 units of specialized equipment have been mobilized for road infrastructure restoration works. This enables simultaneous operations along key corridors and ensures timely and high-quality results.

The key reason for the critical condition of the road network is the liquidation of the Road Fund in 2023, which led to chronic underfunding of the sector. For context, only UAH 12.6 billion has been allocated this year for the maintenance of the entire road network — covering less than 15% of the actual need.

As a result, road operators are severely limited in their ability to carry out timely preventive and capital repairs. This directly affects the country’s defense capability and economic resilience, as quality roads are essential for stable and efficient logistics — both for the Defense Forces and for businesses.

Restoring the Road Fund would bring back a systematic approach to planning and ensure long-term, rather than ad hoc, rehabilitation of the road network. Financing the Road Fund through fuel excise tax aligns with widely accepted international practice, where road users effectively contribute to the construction, repair, and maintenance of infrastructure.

We are doing our part. However, achieving sustainable, long-term results requires systemic decisions at the state level.
