Footage of the destroyed bridge in liberated Balaklia went viral all over the world. Disfigured by an explosion, torn in half, with thin wooden masonry, through which people continue to walk despite everything. The de-occupied cities of Kharkiv region are slowly coming back to life. And Autostrada continues to help them in this. In just one month, next to the destroyed one, we assembled a new temporary bridge made of a 36-meter-long easily assembled metal structure, which Ukraine received from the Czech Republic. The prefabricated structure helped to connect Balaklia with Kharkiv highway R-78 "Kharkiv - Zmiiv - Balaklia - Horokhovatka" as quickly as possible. And most importantly, residents of one of the most densely populated areas of the city, Lageri, can now easily reach hospitals, pharmacies, shops, markets, and social security institutions. When the war destroyed the old bridge, vehicles had to detour almost 20 km to get to the opposite bank. This is the first temporary metal "Czech" bridge built on the de-occupied territories of the Kharkiv Region. The movement of cars on the bridge is organized in reverse mode, a pedestrian path has been installed and appropriate road signs have been installed.
