Autostrada is building a new section of the tunnel between the metro stations "Lybidska" and "Demiivska"

The company's specialists have already installed the concrete base, waterproofing works and the viscous frame of the tray plate of the future tunnel are in progress.
The quality of the waterproofing is of critical importance, affecting the operational characteristics and longevity of the tunnel. In order to reduce the risks of flooding in the construction of a new tunnel, we use a special repairable waterproofing system made of PVC membrane. What are the advantages of such waterproofing?
 - The waterproofing system consists of eight separate sections, which can be individually restored even after the completion of construction and commissioning of the tunnel;
 - Special fittings are placed under each section, from which tubes are led out of the tunnel frame. In case of damage to the waterproofing, resin or acrylate gel can be pumped through these tubes, which fill the entire space and thus restore the damage;
 - This solution is used for the first time in the construction of the metro in Ukraine. The repairable waterproofing system was recently used in the construction of one of the longest railway tunnels in Ukraine - the Beskydy Tunnel in the Carpathians.
At the same time, our specialists continue the work on strengthening the old tunnel, which is adjacent to the accident site, with a reinforced concrete "shirt". The first stage of shotcrete (spraying of concrete on the surface of the tunnel frame) has already been completed and a waterproofing coating has been applied. Currently, the arrangement of the "shirt" reinforcing frame is in progress - the reinforcement is performed by flat welded frames, combined into a single spatial structure with the help of longitudinal distribution reinforcement. At the second stage of installing the concrete "shirt", Autostrada specialists will reinforce the existing tunnel frame.
