Autostrada has begun major repairs to one of Kyiv's key transport hubs.
We are working on the site around the clock. We will resume traffic on the overpass and Brovarskyi Avenue in November. The project is scheduled for completion in 2027.
Tram traffic was blocked last week, and today car traffic is restricted, including under the overpass. At the same time, a circular traffic pattern has been introduced, which was organized in advance by our road workers.
Autostrada bridge construction teams have begun dismantling the structure's elements. Road workers are simultaneously milling the asphalt concrete pavement and starting to install storm sewers.
This site is of strategic importance for the capital. The overpass is located within the Desnyanskyi and Dniprovskyi districts, where over 700 thousand Kyiv residents live. It connects the left-bank districts with the city center, ensures public transport and uninterrupted operation of the metro, and also forms a key logistics route towards the Kyiv region and the northern regions.
The overpass was built in 1967, has 6 lanes, is 46.8 m long, and 34.8 m wide. Therefore, this is not a local repair, but a complete renovation of the emergency overpass, which is in the 5th (inoperable) state and requires immediate intervention. Autostrada specialists will rebuild the traffic interchange at the intersection of Myropilska Street with Brovarskyi Avenue and the Svyatoshynsko-Brovarskaya metro line in accordance with modern standards. In particular, the following is provided for:
— dismantling of the existing structure;
— rearrangement of engineering communications;
— erection of new supports and span structures;
— installation of a new bridge deck;
— installation of modern railings and barrier fences;
— renovation of outdoor lighting;
— renovation of tram infrastructure and contact network;
— arrangement of transition and high-speed lanes;
— separation of traffic flows;
— arrangement of safe pedestrian and bicycle routes;
— creation of barrier-free space for groups with limited mobility.
Autostrada is implementing the project on its own — from design to construction and quality control. The company has the largest design institute in Ukraine and more than 50 of its own production facilities, which ensures high speed, consistency and full control at all stages of work.
