The major overhaul of the overpass above Brovarskyi Avenue in Kyiv is entering its final stage. The Autostrada team has already completed the primary concreting work on the superstructure and has begun laying the road surface.

Road crews are finishing the installation of the asphalt-concrete pavement on Brovarskyi Avenue, as well as on the approaches and ramps of the interchange. The bottom layer of asphalt concrete has already been laid on the left side of the overpass. On the right side, work is underway to complete the waterproofing of the reinforced concrete deck slab. This protective layer shields the load-bearing structures from moisture and aggressive substances, preventing the corrosion of reinforcement bars and the premature deterioration of the concrete.

Simultaneously, Autostrada’s bridge builders are installing railings and safety barriers, and applying anti-corrosion protective coatings to concrete surfaces and the beams of the superstructure. The installation of external lighting poles is set to begin shortly.

We plan to open traffic on Brovarskyi Avenue in November, and vehicle and tram traffic across the overpass in December.

Once the major overhaul is complete, the overpass will feature eight lanes for vehicular traffic, two tram tracks, sidewalks, and bicycle paths. Pedestrian infrastructure will be designed in accordance with modern accessibility standards.

The full completion of the major overhaul of the interchange near the Chernihivska metro station is scheduled for 2027.
