New equipment for the construction of the metro on Vynohradar

Construction of the metro to Vynohradar:
One of the most important stages has begun at the Mostytska station complex - the construction of diaphragm walls to strengthen the excavation. For this, we use the "wall in the soil" method. This technology ensures the stability and safety of future tunnels and underground metro structures, creating a reliable foundation for further work.
To perform these complex engineering tasks, Autostrada invested in new specialized equipment - the Casagrande B200 drilling rig and the S.A.I.C.I. bentonite plant.
Casagrande equipment is widely used in the world during the construction of metros and tunnels due to its ability to work effectively in difficult soil conditions, which is especially relevant for the Kiev terrain. The new equipment will allow work to be carried out stably, without delays and technical failures, while adhering to high safety and quality standards.
The “wall in the soil” technology involves the creation of a deep narrow trench, which is developed under the protection of bentonite suspension. The suspension fills the trench, stabilizes its walls and prevents the penetration of groundwater until concreting. A reinforcing frame is installed in the trench, after which a concrete mixture is laid, which displaces the suspension upwards. The bentonite suspension is drained and can be reused. The “wall in the soil” is used to fence the excavation with its subsequent reinforcement, in which tunnels and metro station complexes are built in an open method. This method is indispensable in densely built-up urban areas and allows you to speed up the construction process.
On the closed part of the European Union Avenue, Autostrada specialists are arranging a foreshaft - a preparatory stage for the further construction of diaphragm walls using the “wall in the soil” method.
In parallel, work is underway on transferring engineering networks at all sections of the facility.
The construction of the metro on the Vynohradar residential area in the capital continues around the clock.
