Autostrada continues major repairs of the overpass near the Chernihivska metro station. The work is focused on the erection of four pillars of the future structure

The foundation and the body of the support have already been concreted on the support No. 1. The next stage is concreting the monolithic nozzle. It is through the monolithic nozzle that the load from the bridge span structure is transferred to the supports.
On the support No. 2, the reinforcement of the grillage - the foundation part of the structure - continues.
On the support No. 3, the grillage and pillars have been concreted.
On the support No. 4, the foundation has been concreted, and reinforcement of the support body is in progress.
At the Autostrada metal structure plant, the manufacture of all eight steel beams of the bridge span structure has been completed. Directly at the construction site, their consolidation is being carried out on special slipways. This approach allows us to carefully control the geometry of the structures, the quality of welded joints, and prepare the beams for further installation, which we will begin soon.
Autostrada road workers are equipping the approaches to the overpass from the side of Brovarsky Avenue and Bratyslavska Street. A large complex of works on the reorganization of engineering networks is also underway - in particular, the construction of a new storm sewer and the relocation of the gas pipeline.
Construction does not stop day or night: almost 200 specialists and more than 100 units of special equipment are working at the facility around the clock.
The new overpass will be significantly larger and more functional than the previous one. Its width will increase from 34.8 to 44.7 meters, and its length from 46.8 to 54 meters. The expansion is planned through the arrangement of additional acceleration and braking lanes, which will help improve traffic organization and make travel safer.
After the reconstruction, the overpass will have:
8 lanes for cars (instead of three);
2 tram tracks;
bicycle paths;
comfortable pedestrian zones on both sides of the structure.
This will allow for a more efficient distribution of traffic flows, improve the movement of public transport and create a comfortable space for all road users.
Special attention is paid to the principles of barrier-free access. The project provides for lowered curbs, tactile navigation for people with visual impairments, and comfortable travel conditions for people with limited mobility.
At all stages of construction, comprehensive quality control of work is carried out. According to current state construction standards, the design service life of steel man-made structures is 100 years. The new overpass near the Chernihivska metro station was designed for this estimated service life. At the same time, the durability of the structure is ensured not only by modern design solutions, but also by the use of high-quality materials, anti-corrosion protection, and compliance with the requirements for operation and maintenance.
