Autostrada continues construction of the metro on Vynohradar in 24/7 mode

The expansion of the “green” Syretsko–Pecherska metro line is an important stage in developing the capital’s transport infrastructure. Despite Kyiv’s rapid growth, densely populated districts—particularly Vynohradar—still lack fast and convenient access to the city center. In addition to its transport function, the metro also serves as a reliable shelter during air raids, which is especially crucial under martial law.
Construction is underway along a 3.78 km section. We are building two new stations, Mostytska and Varshavska (working name: Prospekt Pravdy), as well as a forked extension toward the future Vynohradar station.
Between Mostytska and Varshavska, two-level monolithic tunnels are being constructed using the cut-and-cover method. We continue concreting the tunnel walls and slabs. More than 750 meters of dual-level tunnels have already been built, with work progressing simultaneously at two separate sites. We are also concreting the second level of tunnels on the branch toward Vynohradar to restore surface traffic as quickly as possible.
Mostytska station: we have begun constructing the monolithic structures of the station’s entrance hall. The installation of SSO block running tunnels (station approach) and the main structures of the ventilation unit has also been completed.
Varshavska station: monolithic works on the reversing sidings—where trains will change direction and park overnight—are at their final stage. A pedestrian underpass leading to the station is also under construction.
In several areas, jet grouting is currently being performed to stabilize soils. For these works, we use modern drilling equipment, including the Casagrande C6 XP2—a crawler drill capable of high-precision operations in challenging conditions. This machine is utilized for jet grouting and other foundation works requiring maximum accuracy, stability, and durability. It features a hydraulic drive that enables operation in hard-to-reach areas and drilling in various positions thanks to its advanced kinematics. A radio-controlled panel provides improved safety and operator convenience. To date, 3,100 jet-grouted piles have been completed.
The metro construction division of Autostrada brings together around 2,000 highly skilled specialists and operates a full range of modern specialized equipment required for comprehensive metro construction. This includes a next-generation tunnel-boring shield, jet-grouting systems, and diaphragm-wall equipment. Our in-house production of reinforced-concrete elements and metal structures, together with two concrete plants dedicated to this project, ensures full autonomy and operational stability.
All of this enables us to maintain rapid construction progress, uphold strict quality control at every stage, and avoid reliance on subcontractors.
