Autostrada bridge construction crews dismantled two-thirds of the structures, including the central span and the main supports of the overpass.
Currently, the dismantling of the span from the side of Myropilska Street is underway.
During the work, the critical level of wear and tear of the structure was once again confirmed: the reinforcing bars of the supports and beams of the span structure were significantly corroded, which directly affected the bearing capacity of the structures.
Simultaneously with the dismantling, preparations are underway for drilling piles and installing new supports. The site is also preparing reinforcement frames and installing a storm sewer system.
Steel beams for the new overpass are manufactured by the Autostrada metal structure plant. Thanks to our own capacities, we ensure maximum accuracy of the beam geometry and metal quality control at all stages of production.
As part of the overhaul, the overpass parameters will be significantly increased: the width will increase from 34.8 m to 44.7 m, and the length from 46.8 m to 54 m. This will allow for the construction of 8 lanes of traffic, four in each direction, two tram tracks, sidewalks and bike paths on both sides.
Work on the site continues 24/7. We plan to restore car and tram traffic on the overpass and Brovarskyi Avenue in November of this year, and to fully complete the project in 2027.
