We manufacture beams for a new overpass near the Chernihivska metro station at our own production facilities

The Autostrada steel structure plant is currently producing span structures for the future overpass. We are manufacturing 8 paired steel beams 21 m long and 16 paired beams 16.2 m long for the facility.
The overpass design was developed taking into account complex engineering conditions: it is necessary to ensure the traffic clearance along Brovarskyi Avenue and at the same time take into account the height and length restrictions of the structure from the metro station side.
That is why a non-standard bridge design was chosen: the central span is 36 m, the outer ones are 8 m each. The beams are made with a reduced height and a curved lower belt (from 1.14 m in the middle to 1.54 m above the intermediate supports), which allows the structure to fit into the existing dimensions with minimal elevation of the embankment on the approaches.
After the reconstruction, the overpass will be significantly expanded and lengthened: its width will increase from 34.8 m to 44.68 m, and its length from 46.8 m to 54 m. The updated structure will have 8 lanes of traffic (4 in each direction), two tram tracks, as well as sidewalks and bicycle paths on both sides.
Having its own metal structures plant at Autostrada is an important advantage. After all, the manufacture of such structures is a complex technological process that requires working with large metal thicknesses, special welding modes and strict adherence to technology at each stage. All work is carried out under the scientific supervision of the E.O. Paton Electric Welding Institute, which develops technological solutions for welded joints and controls the quality of their execution.
Autostrada has more than 50 of its own production facilities throughout the country, which allows it to independently manufacture more than 80% of building materials and structures for our infrastructure projects. This is what ensures quality control, speed of work and independence from external suppliers.
