Autostrada is carrying out large-scale works to eliminate critical pothole damage on one of the busiest international highways in the country — the M-05 Kyiv–Odesa. The works are taking place on the section km 178+000 – km 184+000 near the settlement of Nesterivka in Cherkasy region.
The M-05 is part of the Trans-European corridor E95 and a key logistics route connecting Kyiv with the Black Sea and Danube ports. These ports traditionally handle about 90% of Ukraine’s agricultural exports and more than half of the country’s total exports.
Restoring the damaged sections in Cherkasy region is critically important to maintain the capacity of this route, which carries a significant share of Ukraine’s export and import traffic.
Due to long-term operation and missed maintenance cycles, the pavement on certain sections has reached a critical level of wear. The last major overhaul of this section was carried out in 2004. Our task is to ensure safe traffic in the shortest possible time.
To quickly restore the logistics route, 73 Autostrada specialists and 45 units of equipment are working on the M-05 section. The road is being repaired using the patch section method, with some repair sections extending over one kilometer in length.
So far, about 52,000 m² of pavement have been restored, with a total of 72,000 m² planned.
The works on the M-05 are scheduled to be completed by March 17.
The entire construction cycle is carried out using Autostrada’s own resources: asphalt mixtures are supplied from the company’s asphalt plants, and quality control of materials and works is performed at every stage, ensuring high standards of durability and reliability.
