The capital repair of Kharkivske Highway in Kyiv covers a 5.4 km section connecting Sobornosti, Leonid Kadenyuk, and Mykola Bazhan Avenues. Currently, work has begun on the section from Kharkivska Square to Trostianetska Street on the odd-numbered side of the road.

At the initial stage, Autostrada’s road teams are performing dismantling operations, including milling the worn-out asphalt pavement.

As part of the project, the following works are planned:

  • complete replacement of the road base and installation of a new multi-layer pavement structure;

  • construction of new bus stops and elevated boarding platforms at tram stops;

  • creation of a parking area for temporary vehicle storage;

  • installation of bicycle lanes along the entire length of Kharkivske Highway;

  • repair and modernization of all underground pedestrian crossings;

  • full reconstruction of the stormwater drainage system to prevent flooding.

To improve road safety, acceleration and deceleration lanes will be added. Currently, left-turn lanes are missing on key intersections, which complicates traffic flow and increases accident risks.

A strong focus is placed on accessibility. The project includes tactile paving and lowered curbs along sidewalks. Additionally, the underground passage near the Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine will be equipped with elevators.

All construction stages will be supervised by Autostrada’s laboratories to ensure quality and safety both during the process and in the final result.

Autostrada is also using its own production facilities to guarantee timely supply of all necessary construction materials.

Asphalt works are planned to be completed by the end of this year, with the full project finalized in the first quarter of next year.

The result will be a modern, safe, and inclusive transport infrastructure that meets the highest standards and serves the needs of Kyiv residents.
