Winter for road workers is a daily test of endurance and coordination. Under our constant maintenance are 7,660 km of state and local roads in Rivne, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Vinnytsia regions, where we ensure uninterrupted traffic throughout the winter period. Particular attention is focused on the front-line roads of the Kharkiv region, which play a crucial role in the smooth functioning of logistics routes of defense importance.
340 workers and more than 240 units of special equipment are involved on the routes 24/7 - combined road machines, loaders and graders. They promptly clear the roadway, treat the surface with anti-icing materials and clean stops and roadsides.
For stable and timely operation in the winter period, Autostrada has formed the necessary reserves in advance: 140 thousand tons of de-icing materials and almost 40 thousand tons of technical salt. The materials are located at more than 50 production bases of the company operating in each region where Autostrada carries out operational maintenance of roads - this allows us to quickly respond to changing weather conditions.
Over the past few days, difficult weather conditions have been observed throughout the country: snowfall, sleet, and ice. Currently, the situation on the roads maintained by Autostrada is fully controlled.
For us, these are normal working conditions. We are ready for changes in the weather and are doing everything necessary to ensure that the roads remain passable and travel is safe.
