The main phase of road rehabilitation works has been completed on key sections of the international M-06 Kyiv–Chop highway. Autostrada specialists restored the pavement using full-depth “patching by cards,” allowing for comprehensive elimination of defects and improved road safety.

Since March 1, road crews have rehabilitated more than 50 km of roadway within the Zhytomyr region, specifically on the section from km 80+000 to km 129+000. Over 7,500 tonnes of hot asphalt concrete mix have been used. Works were carried out, in particular, on the Korostyshiv bypass, between Kocheriv and Zhytomyr, and near Tsarivka and Novohorodetske.

Roadworks will continue, with localized damage being addressed оперативно using rapid repair methods to ensure safe and uninterrupted traffic flow.

The M-06 Kyiv–Chop highway is one of Ukraine’s key transport arteries, connecting the capital with western regions and EU countries, including Poland, Slovakia, and Hungary. Under current conditions, this route plays a strategic role not only for the economy but also for national defense logistics. It is widely used for the transportation of humanitarian aid, supply deliveries, international freight transit, and passenger traffic.

In fact, the M-06 serves as one of Ukraine’s main land corridors to Europe, ensuring the stability of logistics chains, supporting business operations, and enabling the rapid movement of critical resources.

The last comprehensive rehabilitation of the highway was carried out ahead of UEFA Euro 2012. Today, the service life of pavement structures on most sections has been exceeded, which, combined with heavy traffic loads, necessitates regular maintenance and the implementation of systematic road asset management approaches.
