For the construction of the Vinogradar metro line, the company purchased three jet grouting drilling rigs, including the Klemm KR 720. This is one of the most advanced and efficient machines for Jet Grouting in Europe, ensuring high precision and reliability in operations.
Jet Grouting is used to reinforce water-saturated and unstable soils. This is critically important during the construction of metro tunnels, where there is a high risk of collapses and water breakthroughs. The jet grouting technology allows the formation of powerful cement columns in the soil: under high pressure, the grout penetrates the soil mass, mixes with it, and creates a strong, impermeable barrier. This forms a reliable “shield” that guarantees safe and fast metro construction even in the most challenging conditions, including Kyiv’s waterlogged soils.
The Klemm KR 720 demonstrates exceptional efficiency in these tasks: thanks to its long mast, the machine can drill up to 27 meters in a single pass, enabling deep jet grouting without additional equipment. This significantly shortens project timelines.
Stability and reliability of the Klemm KR 720 are ensured by a crawler chassis with adjustable width from 3,000 to 4,000 mm, eliminating the need for extra supports. The 360° rotating upper frame enables drilling even in confined spaces.
The rig operates in combination with a Metax cement plant equipped with an automated control system. The mixture is prepared in a grout mixer, pumped under high pressure, and the drilling rig forms jet elements up to 2 meters in diameter.
